When I first saw the line-up in April and decided to attend the big party of Global Gathering this year. I certainly didn’t realise I could have such an AWESOME time there. In fact it was definitely my best 20-year-old birthday gift, from myself.
I received the press pass confirmation 3 days before my birthday (4 days before it started). It was literally jumping up and down in my house and booked train tickets and started preparing straight away. Unlike Beach Break Live, this time I was completely working on my own. Carrying my giant new tent, huge backpack, standard festival food bag and all the cameras equipments heading south to Stratford-upon-Avon.
With Skrillex’s sensational spaceship set at UKF Bass Culture, explosive performance from Tinie Tempah on main stage, the ‘A State Of Trance’ Live Broadcast from Armin van Buuren on Friday. To the unforgettable moments of Hospitality crew, main stage headliner Chase and Status, DJ Fresh on Saturday and many more. The Global Gathering weekend has been one of the most exciting and enjoyable shows in my life.
Beach Break Live in 2012 was undoubtedly a splendid beginning of my eventful summer after the first year of university. It was not only my first time attending a music festival as a journalist/photographer but also a last-minute job. I got the press pass literally two days before it started, made the decision to grab this chance right away and took 5 hours morning train heading down to Wales after working the whole day shooting a wedding.
Taking place from 14th to 18th June 2012, the much loved Beach Break student festival brought us the best ever line-up including Chase and Status, Dizzee Rascal, Friendly Fires, Nero, Labrinth and many more.

After only three months of opening, Hope Works has made DJ Magazine’s High Five, the top 5 must see nights in March for the UK. It also features my picture from the night of DVS1. Big up to everyone who made it happen!
So here are few shots from the epic event which highly recommended by DJ Mag, North area top 1 on Resident Advisor and featured on Chic Lifestyle Magazine.
“Don’t expect smooth edges, think choppy beats, cutting visuals and the smoky glaze of what every warehouse party should be!”

I caught up with Benga at Fez Club after he performed with Example at Sheffield Arena.
As well as his live show supporting Example’s live tour, Benga is throwing after parties around the UK, bringing up exclusive chances to catch him playing in front of an intimate crowd. Last friday in Sheffield, Benga was headlining The Tuesday Club pres. WAIT at Fez Club.
As a multi-talened producer, DJ, one-third of Magenic Man and one of the original players in the dubstep scene, Benga is also presenting at BBC radio 1 with his long-term friend Skream on every Friday. 2012 has been an amazing year for Benga. He has started the new live show, own documentary I AM BENGA, and also been working on his new album Chapter 2.
although I haven’t got a chance to have a proper chat with Benga (mainly because I couldn’t find a rather quiet place in Fez Club, thanks to Sheffield ravers), I managed to take couples of nice shots of him spinning behind the decks. Enjoy :)
Also I accidentally spotted myself on the cover photo of Fez Club, standing next to Benga, holding the camera and rocking my bass face!!
