August Bank Holiday is always the busiest weekend in summer. Running between SW4 in London and Creamfields in Cheshire (heart of England yeh) this year, I managed to capture some precious moments at both massive music festivals in the UK.
Every year in October, Clubbing in Asia hosts our yearly reunion in Amsterdam. Ray, the founder of CIA, invites all his friends in music industry to gather in the restaurant in central Amsterdam, for a good few hours of catching up and dinner. This year, instead of attending as a guest, I was invited by Clubbing in Asia to capture this annual gathering event as an event photographer in Amsterdam; and of course, as well as wine and dine.
This year in 2019, the guest list is dazzling. We have Asia’s finest DJs, producers, promoters, booking agents, production companies, record labels and photographer( :D ), all gathered in one room. Apparently, according to Ray, Donald and Jerry, every year we have more and more people travel from Asia to attend Amsterdam Dance Event. So their capacity of ADE dinner gets bigger and bigger each year. That is to say, I have put together a mini album of highlights of the evening. How many of familiar faces can you spot here?
Check out my post of another event photographer Amsterdam mini album. For Carta & Co. and Third Party’s Release night at Nova.
A huge thank you to Eats Everything for inviting me to cover his Edible Stage at Eastern Electrics Festival in London. Being as a music festival photographer in London, I’m always super excited for time like this. You can certainly tell by the photos always, it was a glorious sunny weekend afternoon in Modern Park, packed with good music and beautiful people. It is amazing that I had the chance to capture all this, despite the marathon long shift (1pm-11pm). But hey, no complaints!
This year Edible was hosted at The Switchyard. A open air stage surrounded by giant shipping containers. To be honest it was a bonus point for festival photographer in London. I climbed so many of them with different height to create shots from all different angles. It definitely adds more interesting perspectives if you are covering one stage for 10 hours.
However, it was even more fascinating to capture ravers on the move. This year I have seen many awesome festival outfits in the crowd, also matching the retro industrial vibes of the stage. Tips for festival photographer in London, candid action shots work way better than posed ones. Ask the girls and guys to dance to the tune. The result will be surprising.
Last but not the least, thanks to Be-at.tv you can revisit the full sets of this incredible day on Youtube, featured photos by me. If you have good eyes you might spot me popping around in the video with serious bass face, hah! Enjoy!
The last ever Cocoon In The Park 2019 returned to Leeds Temple Newsam with a bang! The lineup includes tech-house favourites Patrick Topping, Edible boss Eats Everything b2b We Are The Brave boss Alan Fitzpatrick, the legendary Carl Craig and FUSE London originators Enzo Siragusa and Rich NxT, and of course the one of only, Sven Vath.
Thanks Papa Sven and Foz for having me again at this annual celebration in Leeds! Even though 2019 marks the “last ever” CITP, we surely have something even bigger planned for the years to come!
